It is national CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH!

National Hispanic Heritage Month began by the U.S. Congress as Hispanic Heritage Week over 20 years ago. The celebration week was expanded to a celebration month in 1989. September 15th is the Independence day for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. September 16th is observed as the Mexico's Day of Independence and Independence Day in Chile is September 18th. Did you know that over 35 million people in the US are of Hispanic origin?

It's never too early to sign up to take an ACT test. Interested in signing up and/or getting more information about the ACT test?

JOB SHADOW DEADLINE IS OCT. 2ND

It's time to get your job shadow lined up and finalized! We have binders filled with resources that you can peruse. Look through the binders and see if anything interests you and you can go ahead and get your job shadow person selected and get your paperwork completed.

I am here every morning by 7:00 to assist anyone who might need some helping selecting a job shadow person. I am also available after school until 3:30 and during your study blocks.

o Before you begin service and no later than Tuesday, September 2 – Submit your “Before First Visit” web assignment

o Tuesday, September 2 – Commitment forms are due. That means you need to be finalizing your choice about your service agency next week.

o Monday, September 29 – First seven hours are due
