DID YOU KNOW THAT MARCH IS WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH?

 

In honor of National Women’s History Month, let’s salute the following famous female firsts for paving the way for all of us:

 

1866- Thank you LUCY HOBBS who was the first woman to graduate from a US Dental School (Ohio College of Dental Surgery)

1887—Thank you SUSANNAH SALTER who was the first woman elected mayor of a US city (Argonia, KS)

1914- Thank you MARY DAVENPORT-ENBERG who was the first woman to conduct a US symphony orchestra in Bellingham, Washington.

1917- Thank you JEANETTE RANKIN who was the first woman elected to the US House of Representatives.

1970- Thank you DIANE CRUMP who was the first female jockey to ride in the Kentucky Derby.

1983- Thank you DR. SALLY RIDE who was the first American woman to be sent into space.

Don’t forget that your college counselors need 10 days to process your applications and scholarship applications.  Plan ahead and make sure to have your paperwork turned in on time.  Applications turned in less than 10 days in advance are assessed an additional fee.

TURN IN ACCEPTANCE LETTERS

 REMINDER

 

As you retrieve your college acceptance letters from your mailbox, don’t forget to bring a copy down to the GUIDANCE OFFICE.   You can put a copy of your acceptance letters in the basket on Mrs. Steinke’s desk.  Use the same basket where you put your applications.  You don’t need to attach any forms, just put the copy into her basket and she will put it into your file.

Testing Pool Reminders

TESTING POOL REMINDERS

·         Meets Monday, Wednesday, Thursday AFTER SCHOOL

·         Meets Tuesday BEFORE SCHOOL

·         Remember what Mrs. Fieldhouse said at the senior class orientation meetings about letting her know BEFORE your four chances are over if you have some sort of extenuating circumstance necessitating more time (i.e. out several days for mono and accumulated too many tests to make up in four days).
